Dusseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia (617,000 inhabitants) and the Ruhr region; a major business center, the seat of many leading industrial concerns and one of the symbols of the German "economic miracle".

History
Having acquired city rights more than 700 years ago, Dusseldorf owes its current position to intensive industrialization in the last century. The first historical mention of the village dates back to 1135; city rights were granted in 1288. In 1380, Dusseldorf became the residence of the rulers of the principality of Berg, in 1815 it became part of the Prussian state and the capital of the Dusseldorf region. In 1946, the city became the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Monuments
The most valuable monuments of pre-industrial Dusseldorf include the 16th-century Town Hall (Rathaus), the Gothic church of St. Lambertus from the 13th century, and the Jägerhof Palace from the 18th century, which now houses the Goethe Museum. Heinrich Heine, another great German poet who was born in Dusseldorf, is immortalized by the institute named after him, which conducts research on the poet's life and work. There are ruins of an imperial castle in nearby Kaiserwert. The tallest building in Dusseldorf is also an interesting object - the Rheinturm TV tower, 240.5 meters long. You can't miss the Old Town, called the "longest bar in the world" because of the sheer number of pubs.

Royal Avenue
Knigsallee is known by locals as K. It is one of the most beautiful city boulevards in the world. It is cut through by a moat, and more than 200 trees have been planted along the route. This is a unique place for tourists not only because of the atmosphere, but also because of the number of boutiques and shops. Here you can find the most exclusive stores of clothing, jewelry, perfumes, as well as antiques and porcelain. After shopping, you can relax among the greenery, monuments and fountains on one of the many benches.

Culture
The most important places related to the culture of Dusseldorf are, first of all, museums. The Cinema Museum has been operating here since 1993, with a permanent exhibition on the history of cinema and many temporary exhibitions. Benrath Palace houses the Museum of European garden art, consisting of French and English gardens, a small garden with a greenhouse and a mirrored pond. A special place is also occupied by the Palace of Arts, which has three works spanning the ages from the Middle Ages to the present, located in three wings of the building. The collections cover art from all over the world. Betwinner offers new customers a 100% deposit bonus up to €100, giving bettors additional funds to explore thousands of daily sports events.
